172 project applications submitted within the 4th Call for Proposals

The 4th Call for Proposals of the Latvia–Lithuania Cross Border Cooperation Programme 2007–2013 was closed on 3 May 2011. Altogether 172 project applications have been received aimed at specific supported activities in the field of facilitation of business, research and technology, cooperation between vocational schools and entrepreneurs, (Priority I) as well as joint social services, environment protecting activities, and cooperation among cross border institutions (Priority II).

79 of the received project applications are with Latvian Lead Partners and 93 – Lithuanian Lead Partners. In addition 221 partners from Latvia and 185 partners from Lithuania are involved in implementation of the submitted project applications.

The total funding for this Call for Proposals is EUR 17 million. 49 project applications are submitted under Priority I with the requested almost EUR 21,4 million and 123 project applications under Priority II with the requested EUR 39,6 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in order to co-finance projects’ activities in Latvian and Lithuanian border region.

Decisions on the project approval will be made by the Programme’s Joint Monitoring and Steering Committee at its meeting at the end of November 2011.
