First-Aid service on time as well as accurate diagnosis gives more chances to save the life. Hospitals in borderline area have a responsibility to ensure security and appropriate first-aid services for everybody: residents and visitors of a region. In order to solve the problem of currently missing or timeworn existing infrastructure of hospitals in Skuodas and Priekule, as well as Mažeikiai and Saldus renovation and equipment of Receiving Units and Emergency Units will be implemented. Essential emergency and diagnosis equipment as well as emergency vehicles will be obtained for urgent help and help in difficult cases which will be rendered to every person along the borderline.

In order to develop public health services in borderline area by the means of communication and cooperation of the staff language course will take place in each hospital. Doctors and specialists from Priekule and Saldus will attend Lithuanian language 40 hours courses and doctors also specialists from Skuodas and Mažeikiai will attend Latvian language courses for the same duration. Creating joint strategy and module on e-cooperation will be the first step for all the Latvia-Lithuania borderline area hospitals to create a working database and e-consultation module. This module would give a possibility by using new technologies solve problems that small borderline hospitals may experience: lack of specialists or equipment in different medical cases, overcrowded hospitals, busy doctors when urgent help is needed. Working group with the help of external experts is going to work for the possibility to establish and implement this module in all borderline area hospitals and ensure further development of region in public health services.
