Summary Description of the Project:
Active sports community network will be created in Plungė and Bauska. Project activities are aimed to promotion and implementation of joint sport activities which will lead to increase a number of citizen's occupied in sports. Improvement of this situation would positively affect the condition of health, decrease crimes and make living conditions more attractive for every citizen including disabled people.
The main objective of the project is to develop an active sports community network by promoting joint activities between people and organisations, ensuring sustainable sports activities for all generations and developing capacity of selected municipal institutions to provide better services in this field. In order to achieve the project objective e-place for joint information exchange about sport life in the border region will be created, basic spatial and technical planning documentation for improvement of infrastructure (construction of a new sport complex in Plunge and improvement of sport base in Bauska) will be developed, common standard of organisation of different sport activities through joint trainings and competitions will be elaborated as well as sustainable forms for cooperation between Plunge and Bauska will be found. During the project workshops on the different topics and three sports events-trainings and competitions in Plunge and Bauska as well as final competition and conference in Plunge will be organized.

Within the Project three workshops have been organised:

- “Exploitation of the present infrastructure and the ways of how to improve it” in Plunge (methodology on improvement of the present infrastructure has been prepared and submitted to decision makers of the municipalities);
- "Involvement of citizens in sports: methods and measures" in Plungė (methodology on improvement is prepared and submitted to the respective decision makers; a list of information units is prepared);
- "Permanent cooperation between Bauska and Plunge: brainstorming" in Bauska (established two permanent cooperation approaches of the countries in the field of sports and submitted to the local decision making bodies).
- Floorball trainings and competition implemented in Bauska;
- Untraditional water sport tournament in Plunge;
- Ripka sport event in Bauske.
