Summary Description of the Project:
The project focuses on rapid development of both technology and human resources in order to meet the demand of enterprises in highly skilled IT professionals, who would be able to work with modern IT technologies, design and production methods to make up higher labour productivity. The new cross border JRTC centre developed during the project will serve as a core structure for cross border sustainable cooperation to increase the level of technological, methodological, informative and organizational supply of study and research processes at both partner universities.

The Project developed a common multilingual portal in Lithuanian, Latvian and English languages oriented as for VUC and KU target groups and revelant parties as for the wide public of cross border region.
It is also in future planned to create a Virtual Interface between KU and VUC laboratories for on-line networking and dissemination of information among target group members.
Within this project:
- 'Joint Research and Training Centre in High Technology Area' is partly created (1 step) and is functioning.
- The common conception of the new research and study area identified specifically for Klaipeda University (KU) and Ventspils University College (VUC) academic staff members, newly employed researchers and students have been prepared.
- Scientific research is executed. The project leaders and their research assistants (students) from VUC and KU laboratories prepared material of four scientific papers, which was presented during the conference "Technology research works in West Lithuania 2010" (Klaipeda University, Lithuania).
