Summary Description of the Project:
The students’ communities, art and theatre collectives of three partner universities actively participate in cultural life of their regions, but have lack of knowledge about culture of the nearest neighbours and common Balts’ historical identity. Universities united by Baltic culture and history have an interest to renew the tradition of Balts’ unity, which was rooted in the Battle under the Sun.
The main project results are international student camps providing knowledge about different aspects of Balts culture and developing students artistic skills, cross-border theatre and folklore festivals, raising awareness of Balts’ identity, youth conference about contribution to the science of Baltic countries and further durable cross-border cooperation in the field of common Balts’ cultural and historical heritage.

- There was organised International student winter camp by Latvia University of Agriculture.
- 8 theoretical lectures on different themes like Baltic culture, social life, ethnography, national costumes, their development, writings and signs, Baltic symbols, organization of concerts, basics of stage movements, etc. were organized.
- During 11 practical workshops students could use their theoretical knowledge and prepared script projects for three festivals, project logo and sketches of dresses. There was organized exscursion for students to the Museum of Ethnography to provide practical knowledge about traditions, clothes, tools and living - space of the Balts. There was also prepared methodical material for winter camp participants, bought theatre props.
- Festival "The Unity of the Balts under the Sun" was organized in Siauliai. It was 3rd day of International Students' Theatre Festival "Po saule". Two days were for rehearsals, watching spectacles and the 3rd - for performances of the universities participating in the Project.
- On the grounds of script and scenography, created by 3 directors and 3 choreographers from Lithuania and Latvia a common performance representing the Balts’ unity was prepared and presented. After that excursion with guides to the place of the Battle of the Sun was organized for 100 participants of the festival.
