Summary Description of the Project:
Common problem of Latvia-Lithuania cross border regions is lack of information available for foreign franchisors on regions’ economic attractiveness for franchise development and low level of franchise knowledge of local prospective franchisees. Background of project problem is tied to historical, social and economic conditions. Project is aimed to solve identified problems by research of cross border regions, providing its data to foreign franchisors and raising level of franchising awareness. Expected long-term effect is faster economic grow in mentioned regions due to development of franchise systems there. During the project there will be manual providing advanced skills of choosing right franchise published.
Progress report:
During the project the methodology for the research of Latvia-Lithuania cross border regions' attractiveness for franchising was prepared. Methodology was designed to reveal the potential of Latvia-Lithuania cross border regions for exploiting international franchising opportunities. Evaluation models were developed in the methodology to quantify the attractiveness of each target region for franchising in particular business sectors. After the elaboration of the methodology the research on mentioned topic was conducted.
WEB portal www.brand4baltic.eu presenting project results and possibilities for the potential franchisers to get useful information was launched.
During the spring time of the year 2011 training course “FRANCHISE: How to Own a Successful Business” is going to be held in seven cities of the project target regions.
The book "Buying a Franchise – Highway to Success" is in the final stage of development where advises on advanced skills of choosing right franchise and purchasing process are provided. E-version of the book will be available on brand4baltic WEB portal.
