Summary Description of the Project:

Unemployment of disabled people is a very actual problem in the peripheral areas of Latvia and Lithuania. Stereotypical public attitudes towards disabled people, inefficiently used system of integration into the labour market, ignorance, employers' lack of tolerance to employ people with disabilities, lack of competitiveness of social enterprises of disabled are the main problems leading to a large number of unemployed persons with disabilities.

The project aims at creating the pack of measures helping people with disabilities to integrate into the labour market and social life, spreading information about the employment opportunities of people with disabilities, and to increase the social welfare business establishment , growth and competitiveness of social enterprises of disabled.

Project partners will create a website with a data base where employers can search for employees. Established call centre will help to promote the employment opportunities for persons with disabilities. Also it is planned to issue a catalogue where a good practice of enterprises, which have successfully employed people with disabilities would be presented. Project will promote public tolerance and consciousness of disabled people; it will intensify cooperation between social partners, employers, disabled workers and authorities.
